Welcome to room 5

Hello dear visitor of this website. I see you took this room. So then you are a family member, friend or neighbor of someone who doesn't like life anymore and you are worried. How good that you are looking for ways to help your neighbor. You are valuable. Thank you for this.

Key points:

1. Take care of yourself

I would like to ask you to take good care of yourself during this period. It may be strange that I bring this up when you come here for another. Yet. This is essential. If you are not strong yourself, you cannot do much. Provide good nutrition, distraction, sleep and someone you can turn to if things get too difficult.

2. You can support, not save

The most important thing to know is: You are not a life saver. You cannot save the other, at the most you can support it. You can walk next to someone who is having a hard time, but that person will have to take the steps themselves. You can't carry another, no matter how much you might want to.

3. Know what you can do and what not

113 Suicide Prevention has a very good course for relatives with very useful tips. I recommend that you definitely check this one out.

4. Don't judge, listen and be there for the other.
